Last winter I illustrated most of the half pages for Pathfinder's
Skull & Shackles pirate adventure path. From bar fights to underwater battles, zombie pirates to buried treasure, it was a lot of fun sailing the Golarion seas! Here are the first 12 (out of 24)...

I've said it before, I'll say it again... you are a machine. These pieces are amazing, dude. It's so cool seeing them together :) The bar fight and the Dwarven scout guy are my favorites. You totally rocked these. I'm working on some half-pagers right now, I hope my pieces hit the bar you've set ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat action and drama. Look forward to seeing the next 12 :)
ReplyDeletegreat stuff, as usual, Craig... love the cloud/lightening guy and purple claw dude especially.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are fantastic! Lots of drama, great angles and lighting... I love the 'incoming!' feeling of Wasp Attack, and I'll bet Bar Fight was interesting to compose!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the next dozen.
These all turned out amazing!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing them all together. :)
AWESOME WORK! :D 12 great, solid pieces - I am blown away!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! They were a lot of fun, particularly the bar fight. It was an interesting challenge to not have a central focal point, overlapping as many elements as possible to get a sense of chaos. I'll post the other half after the last book is released.
ReplyDeleteThanks again :)
Just wickedly designed and executed, Craig!! and a ton of work, awesome!! Love you as a Dwarf, such beautiful color on that one as well.. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chuck! The dwarf (and the color on that one) was kind of an accident, funny how things work out when we're not thinking about 'em so much. I have a bad habit of over planning and overworking, I really need to shoot from the hip more and let instinct take over.
ReplyDeleteThat's just a spectacular series of illustrations, Craig. I'm amazed at how well you balance everything: light, color, composition, contrast... it's inspiring work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim!
