Microvisions

Little Prince - 5 x 7 in., oil on masonite

Hey everyone! Sorry for the long absence, there's tons of great new stuff up here lately and it's been a lot of fun catching up.

Anyway, This little guy is my contribution to this year's Microvisions auction. (For those who don't know) Microvisions is basically an annual show/auction held at the NY Society of Illustrators to raise money for an illustration scholarship. The only catch is that all the paintings have to be 5 x 7 inches.

I've always loved following the show in the past and seeing what artist were able to pull off in such tiny paintings so I was really excited when I was asked to participate this time around.

  1. I already commented on your blog about this piece, but still, hot damn it's such a nice piece. And as I said before, I think it's going to be a Microvisions favorite. Kudos on being asked to participate, man!

  2. Wonderful piece Chris! I love the palette and the transparency of the wing, it gives the little guy a great newborn quality. Congrats for being selected to participate, I wish I could afford your work.

  3. Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun with him and if nothing else it was a fun excuse to look up pictures of weird albino animals. I also recommend looking up baby bats, they're the strangest combo of cute and terrifying I've ever seen.

Craig - Who knows, maybe he'll only go for like 20 bucks :)

    1. If he goes for 20 bucks, I'll buy it. Hell, if he goes for twenty times that amount, I'd still buy it. But, from what I've seen from Microvisions auctions, it'll go for a LOT more.
