Talisman: The Dragons

The new expansion for the Talisman board game, The Dragons, recently was released and I have seven dragon pieces appearing in it. Last year was a very dragon year for me. One of the pieces, the Zombie Dragon, stood out as my favorite of the bunch and it seems to have become a crowd favorite too. Zombie dragon is gonna eat you!

  1. Pretty sweet, Christopher. Dragons are all over the fantasy landscape, and zombies are starting to annoy people with how common they've become in pop culture (not me, I still love 'em).

But you've totally combined chocolate AND peanut-butter here!

  2. Thanks, Jeff! It was one of those perfect storm of elements :) When I got the art order for it I knew it was going to be a good one (if I didn't mess it up :P )

  3. Damn! Awesome, Chris. Zombies + Dragon = super cool. I like the mood of this piece and I reeeeally dig the glowing red eye approach. Really cool piece, man.

  4. Hee hee... I made the same "chocolate and peanut butter" comment on facebook. I'm making a petition to re-title it "The Reese's Dragon" (kidding, of course :). The light is just awesome, just a whisper of color except for the red eye. How much for a print?

  5. Craig, you can call it the Reese's Dragon! Sadly, I can not sell prints of this one, or any of my Talisman work. Since Talisman ultimately is a Games Workshop game they do not allow artist any rights when it come to prints of their work. I could probably sell a ton of these... but alas, the contract binds my hands.

  6. Ah well, never hurts to ask. At least I can appreciate it's awesome undeadness on here.

  7. Of course, I think I can just GIVE you a print. No money is exchanging hands and if I just so happen to have a print of it laying around I was tired of looking at... and it ended up in your hands... who can complain about that :)

  8. A print from my studio could also end up in your hands. This, of course, would not be an exchange. it's simply a coincidence that we just so happened to send each other prints at roughly the same time :).

  9. Wow Chris, this one's really killer. I like that you went for more of a rotten vibe as opposed to the typical skeletal undead dragon.

  10. The lighting on this one is so great. And you handled the rotting flesh so well...his mouth is so..icky! =D

  11. Ah, that's great! There's a real sense of mass coming off it, too.
